Rates



Your Intake Session - minimum 90 minutes-180 minutes all inclusive (for a child case it is usually at least 120 minutes or more), $275 adult for Trauma Assessment, $425 for any Child Assessment.

ADULTS:  Our first session is a special time as it is the first step on your pathway to wellness.  It will take a bit longer so we can spend time getting to know one another and gather information on your past history as well as thoughts and feelings and situations affecting you or your family presently.

CHILDREN:  For a child, here is where we gather a  detailed history with parents/caregivers, and begin comprehensive evaluation on the issues you bring to my attention.  This can include trauma assessments, attachment assessments, depression screenings, and much more.


Individual Adult Therapy and Child/Play Therapy  - 30 or 60 minutes

At Smiling Spirit Pathways, we don't believe in the "50 minute hour".  You will receive a full 60 minutes of therapy for every session hour, without higher rates. 

$75 per 30 minute session

$145 per 60 minute session

$45 per 60 minute group session

ADD-ON Services - For any additional face to face meetings with school personnel,  parent coordinators, or other care providers, a fee will be assessed.  The rate is pro-rated at an hourly rate of $150, and will include travel to and from the location.   Phone calls are assessed in 15 minute increments.  

TESTIMONY - ***   If testimony is requested, please speak with the office about hourly rates and our fee disclosure.  These are non-negotiable.  ***  Smiling Spirit Pathways does NOT participate in custody hearings, custody/access disputes, vistation, or divorce proceedings.  Please contact a Parent Coordinator or another neutral party to assist you in this matter.

FEES for FORMS AND LETTERS REQUESTS - From time to time, letters are requested for disability, schools, court, parenting coordinators or other such needs.  A checklist form provided by you is assessed at $50.  Any prepared letters requiring narratives for other purposes are assessed at $150 per letter for up to 2 pages. There is an additional fee for greater than 2 pages.   For more detailed assessments, please speak with Smiling Spirit Pathways.

Family Therapy
(This is for families accessing solely family therapy services, not adjunct sessions as part of individual therapy.  Those rates will remain at $145.)

Family Wellness Facilitation - Full day/Full weekend

This is an emotionally safe, non-threatening and highly specialized meeting process with a neutral facilitator intended to help move families from a place of desperation, discord and fear over a given situation or crisis to a path of empowered decision-making and unifying, strengths-oriented results.  It is based on the critically acclaimed Family Group Conferencing model that has been adopted in agencies and private settings nationwide as the method of choice for aiding families in crisis.   Cherie Spehar has been extensively trained in this model, and served as a Senior Trainer, Presenter, and Curriculum Developer for this meeting approach across the state of NC and nationally.  She has adapted this model specifically for a clinical mental health setting and this outstanding service is now available to you in a full day or full weekend format.  Please keep in mind that a significant amount of preparatory work is included in this service prior to actually holding the session, including individual consultations with referring family members and logistical plans.  For this reason and to ensure the most positive, inclusive experience, please allow 2-4 weeks to schedule your facilitation session.

Insurance

At this time, Smiling Spirit Pathways accepts private pay clients only.    We have excellent working relationships with most insurance companies as an Out of Network Provider.  Should you wish to use your insurance, I would encourage you to contact your provider about out-of-network coverage as a possibility.  Most clients find their reimbursement rates to be highly satisfactory and timely.

Medicaid

PLEASE NOTE THAT SMILING SPIRIT PATHWAYS IS NO LONGER ACCEPTING MEDICAID AS OF 4/15/12.  

Reduced Fee/Sliding Scale

Reduced fee services are available on a limited basis.  We will try everything possible to work within your budget!

For services $500 and up, flex payment plans can be arranged.
 

Cancellation Policy

We have implemented a cancellation policy to benefit all of our clients.  We truly value your time and ours and ask for a 24 hour notice for schedule changes and cancellations so that we can provide that healing time slot to another person in need.  For regular therapy sessions, there will be a $50 cancellation charge outside of the 24 hour notice.  For Family Wellness Facilitation, a $100 fee will be incurred for rescheduling any time 7 days prior to the session.
